Introduction to the Course

Fashion Design is the art of the application of design & aesthetics to clothing & accessories.

This course has been designed to respond to the ever changing needs of the modern fashion industry. The fashion industry requires an innovative approach, for which, effective communication is essential.

A good understanding of contemporary fashion systems is vital.

The main aim of the course is to ensure that you will graduate as a highly confident & professional individual, who can demonstrate a strong understanding of & critical approach to, the design process.

The course at PfW will help you develop a good base of visual skills, a broad knowledge of fashion business practice & an awareness of Modern Technical Processes.

Computer Aided Design (CAD) is an integral part of the course. Students are also edified in Marketing, Merchandising & Retailing.

Careers

On completion of the course, students pursue careers in design and/or pattern cutting, styling, visual merchandising, buying, sourcing, garment technology & product development. They can work as Designers, Assistants to Designers, Pattern Makers, Fashion Stylists, Fashion Merchandisers, Fashion Co-ordinators, Self Entrepreneurs, Quality Controllers, Fashion Consultants’ etc.
